I am wondering if we can negotiate the suspension of your blog “God Hates Owen Frager”

I think I’ve been punished enough for what basically was a misunderstanding that we could have cleared up had you not rushed to judgment and removed the blog.

The audience is mad because their treasured blog is down but they blame me for that when clearly you state it was your decision.

Accusations about my stealing your blog are unfounded to steal your blog, I’d have to break into your hosting account and change the IP.

I understand how the perception was when someone typed in the domain and saw your blog- they had no way to realize it was a page on a blog containing 8000 posts, most of which are not valueless cut and paste as your anonymous com mentors assert.

I offered you the domain, what more could I do. To accuse me as your audience did as a habitual domain thief is also unfounded as there is not one single record of any action or claim about me in 9 Years doing this.

When I started domaining I came fro,m some of the world’s top technology companies, at the highest levels, where I worked with top Ip talent to understand legal and trademark issues. Some of the names I’ve created are patented by Bell Labs and have served almost a million customers worldwide since they went into service in 1980.

I have a long and distinguished career and impeccable track record fro anyone who knows or works with me.

It is very disturbing to see this character assignation on the #3 result on Google for my name. I believe you have done more harm to me than I to you.

But can’t we be gentlemen and stop this tonight?

First off, Owen, you need to stop the bullshit. I know what domainers do. I know you registered the GHP domain so that people looking for my blog would land on your ad-laden site. There was no misunderstanding. Unless you can stop lying to me and my readers, the blog stays as-is.

Second, if you want to negotiate, what are you offering?

At that URL — which conveniently redirects to his blog — he writes:

Please note this is an ARTICLE named God Hates Protesters (.com) about a blog called GodHatesProtester.wordpress.com that sends you directly to THAT blog to read the content they admittedly STEAL from other blogs. I registered the domain names (singular and plural) because apparently the blogger didn’t want them, and as a domain investor that seems a shame to me for a keyword that has 1.5 million page views. In essence through this article the domain has been secured and is forwarded to them.

He then grabbed my entire front page and slapped it on his post.

I started this blog two years ago as a hobby. A lot of time was spent searching the web for the best protest signs, linking to the original content providers when possible.

Should I have registered the domain back then? Probably. But, honestly, I just didn’t care that much about it.

So after two years of searching and posting and tweaking, Mr. Frager’s oh-so-kind gesture has made me realize that I’m tired of the whole blogging thing. It was fun, to a point, but it sucks up time and I have a lot of other things going on.
